What happened to Kentucky?

As we passed thru Tennessee yesterday I realized the Great Race missed Kentucky. This is the only state boardering the mighty Mississippi that was not part of The 2013 Great Race. Well these "Bluegrass Boys" started our journey to St. Paul from Lexington, Ky. JeanAnn and Gary did the same except they started in Simpsonville. Also I understand a few other team passed thru good "old" Kentucky on the way to St. Paul. Go Cats!
