Own a Piece of Great Race History from Route 66!

Great Race Automotive artist and X-Cup Legacy Board Advisor Sarah Stahl has unveiled her sixth annual Great Race painting, a detailed tribute to this year’s rally along historic Route 66 during its Centennial celebration.

Known for building each piece around the race route itself, Stahl begins her process by researching the roads, landmarks, towns, and stories that define the Great Race experience. The result is a layered visual narrative that captures both the spirit of the competition and the history of the places it passes through.

This year’s painting highlights some of the most iconic stops along Route 66, including the World’s Largest Catsup Bottle, Cadillac Ranch, Arch Rock, and the Petrified Forest. Interwoven throughout the composition are Great Race vehicles and the Alfred State Power Wagon, along with a hidden “100” honoring the Route 66 Centennial milestone.

A special tribute is also included for Great Race competitor Curtis Graf, whose legacy and past Route 66 victory earned him a place within the artwork. His inclusion serves as a nod to the champions and long-standing participants who have helped shape the event’s history.

Beyond the artwork itself, Stahl’s longstanding support and involvement with the X-Cup Legacy Board plays a central role in the painting’s purpose. As an advisor, she supports the organization’s mission to preserve automotive heritage while helping train the next generation of restoration professionals.

All proceeds from the auction will benefit X-Cup Legacy scholarship programs, providing educational opportunities for students pursuing careers in automotive restoration and preservation.
