Great Race SPRING RALLY 2026 - Day 1 Coverage
We're kicking off our Route 66 Centennial celebration with an amazing Spring Rally in Springfield, Missouri. The Coker Tire Great Race Spring Rally presented by Stahls Motors and Music Experience is a three-day rally that serves as an excellent warm-up for the big Great Race, which is only about six weeks away! Because we couldn't work in a Springfield, Missouri stop on our Route 66 themed Great Race, we made it work for the Spring Rally. Based out of the Doubletree Hotel, we have accomplished registration and tech inspection, and now we're hitting the road!
The Day 1 route sent racers into rural Missouri, navigating rolling hills and tough turns. And Director of Competition, John Classen configured a challenging course with a few loops, mazes and tricky speed changes. The Spring Rally doesn't have hosted lunch stops, but we had lunch on our own in Warsaw, Missouri and then hit the road again after a quick break. From there, we drove through small towns, Amish countryside, and saw plenty of farmland. Ultimately, we landed back at the Doubletree to receive scores, and then made the short trip over to Commercial Street in downtown Springfield to display the rally cars and enjoy a great meal. Shops were open, music was playing and we all enjoyed catching up after a busy day on the course. At the end of the day, it was 2025 Great Race Grand Champions Jeff and Eric Fredette taking the top spot on Day 1 with a score of 6.52 seconds.
