Great Race 2013--Cajun Madness!!!
We've visited hundreds of towns in the 30 years that Great Race has been around, but today was one of the best days in Great Race history, in terms of the towns we visited! The crowds were incredible in both our Crowley and Covington stops, here in Louisiana and you wouldn't believe the awesome food that we were given! The folks in Crowley and Covington took Cajun cooking to a whole new level! We rallied through some of the low lands of Louisiana, seeing a few swamps along the way. We also traveled across the loooooong bridge on I-10 on our way to and from Crowley. When we arrived at lunch, Ed Habetz and Tom Regan were the first in the line of cars, and they certainly got a warm welcome to their home town! The stop in Covington was also packed with spectators, as thousands of folks lined the streets to see each and every car roll through the finish gate. With only one more day of competition remaining, the race is getting tight, and we're ready to see who will take home the $50,000! We ate LOTS of fine Cajun cooking inside the Crowley Motor Company building, which was once a Ford assembly plant in the Model T era. So cool!
