Rookies have the Best Seat!

May 12, 2011

When Wes Kliner told me he wanted us to do a short Live Auction in conjunction with the 4th Annual “Auction for Autsim” I was a bit skeptical that we would get in many items worthy of such an event.  Then a couple days later I heard from Rookie Fred Duckloe of Frederick Duckloe & Brothers.  Fred called to ask if a donation of a custom Great Race Windsor Chair would be appropriate.  I could not say, “Yes!!” fast enough!

Fred and his son Greg are driving their yellow ’66 Corvette Stingray Convertible that Fred bought for a wedding present for his wife Joan.  As Greg says, “They have owned the car longer than I have been alive.”   Greg is blogging about getting ready for the Great Race – take a look at Greg’s Blog at http://joanscorvettegreatrace2011.blogspot.com.  We are so excited to have them join our Great Race family.

Fred and Greg just sent pictures of the Great Race Windsor Chair – WOW!  The cherry wood chair has the Great Race logo on the front and Chattanooga, TN – Bennington, VT / June 11-18, 2011 on the back.

We are still accepting donations to the “Auction for Autism”!  If you have a donation, please contact me at [email protected] with the details.  Take a look at our website to see some of the items we have in: https://vcra.tofinoauctions.com/auctionforautism11/donation_items.
