Great Race Car for Sale–1916 Studebaker Racer

August 29, 2014

Dennis Barfield first started competing in the Great Race more than 20 years ago. The Charleston, South Carolina, area resident has participated in a number of different cars and in a number of different classes. But in the last 10 years he has become best known for the 1916 Studebaker race car he has competed in.

His 1916 Studebaker attracts as much attention as any car that has ever been in the event. The photo above of his car leaving the starting line in Traverse City, Mich., in 2012 has been used by the Great Race for promotion for several years. But now Dennis has decided to put the car up for sale to let someone else enjoy it – hopefully on the Great Race that he loves so much.

After working the bugs out in the car’s first race years ago, it has performed flawlessly over the last decade, including on the 2014 Great Race. Anyone interested in the car is encouraged to contact Dennis on his cell at 843-200-8077 or by email at [email protected].

  • Since I already have a 1916 Studebaker 3 seat roadster I am interested if you have any parts for sale? I also am getting ready to sell mine next year as well. If you are interested I am @ [email protected]. I am interested in how much this race car is being offered for sale. Mine is complete and has an older restoration but in very nice shape. This car is a twin of the one at the National Studebaker Museum.
