Kuck, from Lincoln, Nebraska won the event in his 1917 Hudson Indy car in 1998 (Tacoma, Washington to Haverhill, Massachusetts) and 1999 (Marietta, Georgia to Anaheim, California) as navigator. Rex Gardner was his driver both of those years. Kuck also rallied with his son, Scott, in the Hudson in more recent years. Kuck was part of the 11-person Rally Partners group that kept the Great Race going from 2003-05. We will pass on more information as it becomes available.

  • Loved Gary’s dry humor. He loved the Great Race and enjoyed his interactions with his rally friends. Leonard & I will miss our annual visits In Scottsbluff, NE at Sugar Valley rallies .

  • Just learned of the passing of Gary. Always looked forward to the Great Race. I was chairman of the last race that over nighted in Grand Island. Had a lot of fun during that time.
Gary will be missed by many.
