X-Cup Team Needs Loaner Vehicle to Make 2018 Great Race

June 4, 2018

The Murfreesboro (Tennessee) X-Cup team needs a vehicle to be able to participate in the 2018 Great Race. The second-year team’s 1953 Pontiac has had engine trouble and cannot be rebuilt in time for the race. The Pontiac made the entire 2017 Great Race without any major issues, and the team is really looking forward to the international flavor of the 2018 event from Buffalo to Nova Scotia.

“If there is a Great Race team out there with a race-ready car to lend to this year, it would really make these kids’ year,” Great Race director Jeff Stumb said. “I am going to be making some calls today and tomorrow to some racers to see if we can come up with a car, but anyone who reads this and want to loan them a car should call me at 423-648-8542 or email me at [email protected]

There are four other X-Cup teams scheduled to participate in this year’s race: the Boy Scout Troop from Galax, Va.; Unser Racing Museum from Albuquerque, N.M.; Alfred State from Wellsville, N.Y.; and Georgia Northwest Tech from Rome, Ga.
