Dale Bell’s former Great Race car, a 1916 Golden Submarine replica of Barney Oldfield’s famous car, took third place in its class at the Concours of America last weekend at St. John’s in Michigan. The concours featured a Great Race Class and 10 cars from around the country were there. There were more than 275 cars in the concours in more than two dozen categories. About two dozen current and former Great Racers were in attendance at the event. Bell sold the car a couple of years ago, and Charlie Glick was at the concours representing the new owner.
