Our buddies up North have a very cool (literally) rally event, and it’s called the Pumpkin Run. It’s held toward the end of October, and it’s based out of Millsboro, Delaware. The event sends rally-racers through the scenic land of the Northeast, and it has raised over $40,000 for the Millsboro Volunteer Fire Company’s Building Fund. It’s a great rally for a great cause, and many of our friends and Great Race participants join in on the fun.
Diehard rally enthusiasts, the Feeney's piloted their very popular '36 Ford police car to a 13th place overall finish.
While Great Race Grand Champion, Howard Sharp piloted a 1916 Hudson during the Pumpkin Run, the other half of the Champion duo rode in this '32 Ford, and finished in 2nd place overall!
This year, it was quite cold, and racers even saw a bit of snow during the competition. In the end, the team of Rutledge/Dressler took home the overall victory in Corky Rutledge’s 1929 Model A pickup. If you recall, Corky and Tim Rutledge won the Sportsman division of the 2011 Great Race, so these guys are certainly on a roll! We’re really getting excited about the 2012 Great Race, and we hope to see all these Northeast Rally Club guys and gals come out to compete for “the bird”!
This Ford Speedster (owned by Peter Hersey) is a familiar car in the rallying world, and scored an 8th place finish.

Bob Byran and all the folks with the Pumpkin Run do a great job and should be commended.
