Hemmings Returns as Title Sponsor for 2014 Great Race

Hemmings Motor News is considered “The Bible of the Collector Car Hobby since 1954”, and it has been the number one supporter of the Great Race since our rebirth in 2011. Publisher, Jim Menneto, is a huge rally enthusiast, and participates in each Great Race (among other rally events) with his 1932 Ford speedster. We’re proud to have Hemmings Motor News on board as the title sponsor for 2014, and we’ll even have a hosted lunch stop in Hemmings’ hometown of Bennington, Vermont on Sunday, June 22, 2014, starting at 12:05pm Eastern time.

Hemmings Motor News was founded by Ernest Hemmings in Quincy, Illinois, in 1954. The first issue consisted of four pages, and 500 copies were sold at 50 cents per copy. Today, Hemmings has more than 175,000 subscribers, and more than 30,000 issues are sold from the newsstand each month. Hemmings Motor News is a monthly publication, that is now accompanied by sister magazines, Hemmings Muscle Machines, Hemmings Classic Car and Hemmings Sports & Exotic Car.

Today, Hemmings Motor News employs a staff of 100 people at its World Headquarters in Bennington, Vermont. This location, which is just 35 miles east of Albany, New York, is also home to Hemmings’ old-fashioned Sunoco filling station, Car Lover’s store, and a vehicle display which features more than 25 automotive legends from the past.
