Entrant registration will begin at 7:30 a.m. at the host hotel, the Marriott, which is situated between the airport and the Mall of America in Bloomington, Minn. Vehicle inspection will begin at the same time and will run until 8 p.m. Registration and Inspection will only take place on Thursday. Friday will include the annual Rally School, Trophy Run and Mandatory General Meeting, all of which will take place at the Minnesota State Fairgrounds.

“We are excited to be teaming up with the folks at the Back to the 50s Weekend, and we are excited that Great Racers will be in the spotlight of that huge event at the Fairgrounds.” Stumb said. The back to the 50s Weekend event begins Friday, June 21, and there will be 14,000 cars and 40,000 spectators. “The Great Race teams will have a chance to look around at the thousands of cool cars that will be at the Back to the 50s Weekend between Rally School and the Trophy Run and again between the end of the Trophy Run and the Mandatory General Meeting.”

The official start time of the Great Race at the Fairgrounds on Saturday, June 22, will be 10:30 a.m.
“Then we don’t stop until we crown a winner in Mobile nine days later,” Stumb said.

  • Sounds like a great time. I am concedering being a participant in the Great Race. I have a 1952 MGTD. Probably wouldn’t win anything but it would be a great time.
