That’s right, we have officially set sail in the 2013 Hemmings Motor News Great Race presented by Hagerty! This morning, thousands of people filled the area to send off each and every Great Race participant, as they motored out of the Back to the ’50s event. We covered all the action from the Grand Start, and then followed along with the route to see the cool back roads and small towns in Minnesota and Wisconsin. We stopped for lunch in Eau Claire, Wisconsin and then made our way to the beautiful town of La Crosse, Wisconsin for a wonderful stop alongside the Mighty Mississippi River. Big storms came rolling through toward the end of the Parc Ferme, so we packed up and headed to the hotel. Here are our favorite shots from today’s action–get ready for a bunch of cool pictures!

Dang! I feel like the dog left at home, when his family goes off on vacation. I’ve got my oily, wet nose pressed against the window glass watching you guys roll away. You’d best have at least 100/99 as much fun as you would if I were there! jc
