Coker Special Wins Award at Concours of America

Corky Coker’s 1937 Buick Shafer 8 took second place in its class at the Concours of America last weekend at St. John’s in Michigan. The concours featured a Great Race Class and 10 cars from around the country were there. Chad Caldwell and his 1931 Auburn won the class. There were more than 275 cars in the concours in more than two dozen categories. The Shafer 8 was driven to the awards presentation by Great Race director Jeff Stumb. Actor Ed Hermann, best known for his portrayal of Franklin Roosevelt, was the announcer for the concours and presented the award. The photo was taken by Ned J.
