Yesterday’s storms brought in cooler temperatures for Day 2 of the Coker Tire Great Race Spring Rally presented by Stahls Automotive Collection. Owensboro, Kentucky was cool and breezy and the teams pushed through several rain showers throughout the day’s route. John Classen’s course sent racers north into Indiana, where farmland and a few rolling hills made up the majority of the terrain. After a quick lunch stop, we jumped back on the clock, and then crossed into Saint Francisville, Illinois by way of the Cannonball bridge. This structure was originally a railroad bridge and converted to a one-lane wooden auto bridge and continues to operate. From there, we continued through Illinois and back into Indiana, and finally rolled back into downtown Owensboro for a parc fermé on Veterans BLVD. Tomorrow is the final day of competition here at the Spring Rally and there are some heavy hitters at the top of the leaderboard.
