Enter the 26th Annual Great Race!
Great Race North America is the 1st stage of the Great Race from New York to Paris. This 15-day driving adventure marks the 26th annual Great Race. Already established as the benchmark of driving events for classic car enthusiasts, Great Race North America will travel through upstate New York before entering Canada for a fun and scenic drive across southern Canada, finishing in Vancouver, British Columbia.
It all starts with the turn of the key and the press of the accelerator to enjoy a Great Race adventure. Great Race North America is a cross-country competition of time and endurance for classic cars and cars powered by renewable energy.

- Eligible vehicles: Classic cars and motorcycles, 25 years old or older and renewable fuel powered cars
- Distance: 5,315 kilometers (3,300 miles)
COMPETITION FORMAT: In 2008, Great Race North America entrants can chose to enter either the Great Race Traditional class or the World Format class. Great Race Traditional will use timed-scoring and regulations similar to those last seen in 2006, World class format allows the use of additional navigational equipment including GPS units, calculator and odometer. Rookies compete only against fellow rookies.
The route will once again be designed by Great Race’s Director of Competition, John Classen, now in his 20th year. The traditional Great Race formula of challenging roads, spectacular scenery, interesting stops, impeccably accurate course instructions and great camaraderie will make this yet another memorable event.
WHO CAN PARTICIPATE?
Great Race North America is open to vehicles that are at least 25 years old, or older and are insured and legal for road use. All other cars may be submitted for consideration on an individual basis.
