Enthusiasts can Join the Historic ‘Great Race’ for as few as 3 days
NEW YORK – The 100th anniversary re-run of the 1908 New York to Paris “Great Race” is open to classic car enthusiasts who wish to participate on a less ambitious level than the 65-day, 22,000 mile rally. Enthusiasts interested in joining the around-the-world adventurers can participate in one of three regional segments or “stages”; Great Race North America, Great Race China and Great Race Europe. To provide an opportunity to get even more teams involved, Great Race is also accepting participants anywhere along the route for as little as 3-days to a week for the milestone adventure.

Great Race partners with Canadian Classic Car Club
The members of the National Association of Antique Automobile Clubs of Canada, Corporation, (NAAACCC), will be crossing the border from the starting line of the 2008 Great Race in New York City on May 30, beginning an historic cross-Canada journey.

Great Race Partners with Canadian Media Company
[Ottawa, Ontario –, November, 2007] – Gross Point Media, based in Ottawa, Canada has purchased the Canadian rights for next summer’s Great Race from New York to Paris. The agreement gives Gross Point Media the rights to promote, merchandise and execute 12 - “Finish Line” events involving the Great Race 2008 world tour, traveling across North America, Asia and Europe next June - July.

Great Racers Celebrate 1908 Great Race in Times Square
Great Racers participating the 2008 Great Race were in Manhattan last Tuesday, February 12, to mark the 100th Anniversary of the 1908 Great Race from New York to Paris. As part of the celebration, the Racer’s enjoyed a New York City Police escort through Times Square at the exact moment that the 1908 Great Race began a century ago. The streets down Broadway and 7th Avenue were lined with people taking pictures of the field of cars as they drove through The historic cross roads. Following Times Square event, the 2008 Great Race and the participants were presented to the National and local media at a Press Conference at Tavern on the Green. New York to Paris event is rescheduled for April 2009 as part of an exciting menu of automotive events
Great Race Sports has announced that the milestone event from New York to Paris has been rescheduled for April 25, 2009 after being postponed from its original starting date this May. The commemorative re-run of the 1908 New York-to-Paris “Great Race” is widely considered to be one of the most remarkable automotive adventures of the 20th century, an automobile race from New York to Paris before the advent of today’s modern highways and gas stations.
