Mary Anne and I celebrating our 45th earlier this month.

Do we have to go home? The 2013 edition of the Great Race was an adventure of a lifetime. I can never repeat the experience, but I hope I can repeat the experience. The Bluegrass Boys started slow, but gained speed as the Race progressed. Our goal was to start on time and stay on course. We think we started on time, but we never finished on time except once. As for staying on course we did OK. We started out in rain and heat and finished in heat. Thanks to Charlie for navigating us safely throughout the Race. Along the way every one was very open and welcoming. I enjoyed seeing the children along the byways waving and taking pictures the most. Hopefully they will be Great Racers in years to come. To me the best part of the race was when my wife Mary Anne got to talk to Corky as I finished the race in Mobile. Mary Anne was not able to accompany us in the Race. She was with us in spirit all the way. Corky had been have fun about Mary Anne allowing me to take the ’69 Dart on the Great Race, but I had to give it back tomorrow.
