Longtime Great Racer Rex Gardner has announced the dates of VCRA’s 2016 “All Stars for Autism” rally in Springfield, Missouri. The dates are May 5-8, 2016, and the host hotel will be the Ramada Oasis Hotel and Convention Center. Last year’s “All Stars for Autism” was won by Beth Gentry and Jody Knowles in their 1932 Ford Cabriolet. Many use this annual event, which takes place about six weeks before the start of the Great Race, as a tune up for the cross-country event.

“As most of you know, this is an outstanding venue, and they have committed to make this one even better,” Rex said. “This world class event is now viewed as a ‘must do’ for those that are preparing for the Great Race, or for those that just want to enjoy one of the premiere rally events in the country.”

VCRA has always offered a competitive, challenging, fun filled event that is sure to test the skills of the teams as well as the preparation of the vehicles. They offer an in depth rally school especially directed to first timers, or “Rookie” entries.

“We have been told time and again by returning Rookie teams from across the country that this was the best investment they made to prepared them for the Great Race,” Rex said.

VCRA will offer DASH FOR CASH, RUN FOR FUN and first timer only GREENHORN classes that offer a competition level for all, and, in the case of the Dash For Cash, cash prizes and awards.

VCRA will develop a challenging course based on the cloverleaf concept, meaning the rally starts and ends daily at the host hotel. Of course, the ever popular VCRA reception will be enjoyed by all at the end of each days rally adventures. Entry forms, schedule and hotel information will be posted soon on the VCRA site at www.vintagecarrally.com.
