Rawlins is in the middle of the southern part of the state of Wyoming, and it will be a welcome sight as the Great Racers travel from one end of the state to the other on Wednesday, June 22 on this year’s event. Lunch will be held at the historic depot in downtown Rawlins right along the same rail line that went through Evanston the night before and the same one they will see in Cheyenne later the same day at the overnight stop.

Rawlins has been a pit stop in the Great Race four times previously, with the last time being in 2005, but this is the first time it has hosted a lunch stop. Racers will enjoy their meal in the depot before heading eastward across the Snowy Range Mountains and into Cheyenne. And, yes, there may still be snow on top of the Snowy Mountain Range in late June.
