Great-Race-Hershey-2012

Great Racers hanging out in the booth at Hershey 2012.

Last week’s Great Race display at the Hershey swap meet saw race director Jeff Stumb meeting with dozens of potential future Great Racers Wednesday through Friday. In addition, he saw almost 40 current and past Great Racers, including 1984 Grand Champion Gary Wales. For those of you who don’t know, Gary won the second race with our own Director of Competition John Classen as navigator in a 1936 Bentley boattail speedster.

We also saw our friends from Reliable Carriers, including Mike and Cindy White, who drove the Reliable 18-wheel every mile of the event to pick up anyone unfortunate enough to break down. Also there were Reliable GM Bob Sellers and auction manager Dale Wilson from the home office in Canton, Michigan.

And of course we saw our friends from Hemmings Motor News, including Jim Menneto, Jeff Chao (better known as Chewey) and Matt Williams (aka Turtle); and our friends from Hagerty, including McKeel Hagerty, Nicolle Girard, Jonathan Klinger, Davin Reckow and Tabetha Salsbury.
