Great Race Surpasses Last Year’s Entries, Nears 100

Great Race 2013

The 2012 Great Race around the Great Lakes produced a record number of rookie entries into the event – a number many thought would never be broken. Well, one year later, that number has been broken with more than 50 days to go before the 2013 race takes off from St. Paul. Currently, there are 28 rookie teams entered in the Great Race, from as far away as California and Florida.

And there are several from the state of Minnesota, a state that has not produced many rally teams in the past. Please note that we are still listing Car #63 as part of the 2013 Great Race in memory of 21-year-old rookie navigator Henry Mackaman who passed away a few weeks ago.

This year’s total entries has also matched last year’s total of 92, and with two months to go race director Jeff Stumb believes the event will reach its maximum of 100 cars.
