Gentry and Knowles Win Big at All-Stars for Autism Rally

Great Race 2013

A little snow didn’t stop Beth Gentry and Jody Knowles from winning the 8th annual All-Stars for Autism rally in Joplin, Missouri, last weekend. They edged out defending Great Race champions Barry and Irene Jason and the always steady Bill Harper and Larry Blair. Gentry and Knowles, who won first place in the Expert Division in the 2012 Great Race, were competing in their 1932 Ford Cabriolet.

The Thursday practice run was met with cold temperatures and rain, and it turned to snow overnight. That forced the cancelation of the Friday portion of the event. Saturday was a little warmer with rain in the morning, but Sunday was perfect. All three of these teams, along with more than 90 others, will be competing for the 2013 Great Race title when the event beings in St. Paul on June 22.

  • Congratulations to Beth and Jody. It was a great event even if the weather didn’t cooperate! We enjoyed being with our “rally family”. Since we had some extra non rally time due to the weather there was lots of stories told about past Great Races and much discussion about the 2013 event. All agreed that we might like some of the cold weather when we are on our journey down the Mississippi River from Minneapolis to Mobile.
