Today, we reached new territory–South Carolina. It was hot and humid, but the scenery was spectacular throughout the day’s route. The route sent us through the back roads of South Carolina, with an awesome lunch stop in Myrtle Beach. Lots of folks came out to see the cars roll into town, but we had some traffic woes and it resulted in cutting our lunch short in order to get back on schedule. From our stop at Broadway at the Beach, we took off down the road toward a final destination of Mount Pleasant. In outstanding fashion, we had dinner on board the U.S.S. Yorktown aircraft carrier. Wow, what an amazing piece of history. Enjoy the day’s photo highlights, and be sure to check out the day’s scores.

  • I live in Milford, DE and waited for 1 1/4 hours along Rt.113 to see the vehicles pass by. Evidently, this route was not used. Will you please tell me how you by-passed our city. No one, including the police, knows about this race. (rally)

  • I’ve really enjoyed watching daily cumulative results & seeing the photos of the cars on the road. My husband & I were part of the crowd at Ogunquit Beach to see all of you off on this magnificent journey. I admire the spirit of adventure all of you have. I’m especially watching Car 4 and Car 33 but am wishing all of you well.
